X-Men: First Class Shall Be Last

Men with special powers over our thoughts. Women with the ability to morph into any identity. Orphans with control over metal. Youth with the capacity to fly from the force of sound. What does the world do with mutants like these? What do the mutants do with the world? The X-Men struggle to find their identity and their place. Unfortunately, the world struggles the same way with the mutants. We identify with the mutants because we have all felt the pain of rejection. We know what it feels like not to belong. We all have a longing and a need to be a part of a community. The mutants gather together in such a community to encourage and support one another, to help one another harness the power of their gifts, and to take on the world. There still exists a community for mutants. It is a group that encourages and supports one another (1 Thessalonians 5:11), helps one another harness the power of their gifts (1 Corinthians 12), and takes on the world together when mothers and fathers and friends and governments and authorities turn on them (Matthew 10:16-39). This community is called the Church.
